Try this non-dairy hot chocolate sometime when you want a warm treat. It has all the flavors of caramel-salted hot chocolate and weighs in at about 110 calories.
Hot Chocolate – Debbie’s Way
Ingredients
1 cup unsweetened almond milk or your choice of milk
1 Tbsp of unsweetened cocoa powder (I like Trader Joe’s brand)
1 Tbsp mini semi sweet chocolate chips
1 packet of Stevia or sweetener of your choice
1 packet of Stevia or sweetener of your choice
1 tsp butterscotch chips
1/4 tsp of ground cinnamon
Pinch of salt
Whipped Cream (I used Soy brand from Whole Foods)
Directions
1. Place milk in a 4-cup glass pitcher or bowl. Heat 1 minute on high in microwave.
2. Add chocolate chips, cocoa powder, cinnamon and stevia.
3. Whisk until well blended and chocolate is dissolved.
4. Add butterscotch chips and salt. Stir. Heat 1 minute on high in microwave.
5. Whisk until well blended.
6. Pour into a cup.
7. Top with whipped cream, sprinkle very, very lightly with salt and a few additional chocolate chips.
