Orange Medley Protein Smoothie

Sometimes you just have to use what you have available.  I saw a can of mandarin oranges and thought – hmm, I wonder what I can do with these.  Regular peeled oranges could be used as well.
Tip:  Buy some bananas, peel them, cut them in half or in thirds and package them in a zip lock bag in the freezer.  Now you have frozen bananas whenever you need them.  Frozen bananas act as a thickener to your smoothies, add natural sweetness and give a creamy  texture.

A orange based protein smoothie with strawberries and bananas. What makes the taste different is the use of mandarin oranges and almond extract.

  1. 1-1/12 cups Unsweetened almond milk or your choice of milk
  2. 1 Serving Vanilla Protein Powder
  3. 1/3 Frozen Banana
  4. 1/2 cup Frozen Strawberries
  5. 1/3 cup Mandarin Oranges
  6. 1/2 tsp Almond Extract
  7. Pinch Cinnamon
  8. 2-3 Ice cubes, optional
Instructions
  1. Place ingredients into blender and enjoy
