Storing dry ingredients (cereals, beans and grains) in airtight containers has the following benefits:
1. Increases the shelf life of product
2. Increases time efficiency in the kitchen
3. Allows ease to determine what needs to be restocked for future grocery shopping.
Tips to keep the cooking directions with the product:
Easiest – Cut the instruction portion of the bag and place in a ziplock bag. Seal and place in with the grain or bean.
Medium – Index cards are very inexpensive. Print the measurements and cooking directions onto a card, let the ink dry, place in with the grain or bean.
Hardest (not really) – On an unlined index card, embellish with rubber stamps or stickers, write measurements and cooking directions onto the card, let the ink dry and place in with the dry ingredient.
