This box recently arrived at my doorstep.
I have owned a set of Calphalon cookware for over ten years and so when I was offered an opportunity to review a piece of their Contemporary line, I jumped at the chance. My existing set is used day in and day out and many memories have been created in those pots and pans. I chose the 8.5 quart dutch oven because of it’s wide base. I could easily envision soups, spaghetti sauce, chicken, and veggies being prepared. I won’t lie – I was also pretty excited that this product line can go into the dishwasher; something my current pots and pans aren’t able to do. Hmmm- I wonder what I could do with a few more minutes?
It didn’t take long before the pan was out of it’s box, washed and ready to be put to work. I created a soup recipe that can be made quickly (please see below). I also made sweet potatoes cooked in apple juice and spices which left a sticky mess. My husband used it during Thanksgiving to sauté green beans and is looking forward to trying them on his artichokes. Each and every time the pan came out sparkling clean from the dishwasher.
Here are a few other positive things I jotted down while I was using the pan.
1. Love the deepness of pan – no splatters when sautéing onions or when the additional ingredients are added. This meantt less to clean up on my stove top.
2. Lots of cooking surface allowing the ingredients to be spread out which created a quicker cooking time.
3. Handles do not get warm when using on stove top.
4. Clean in dishwasher — really – really – like.
5. Nonstick surface – a very small amount of oil is needed.
It is always a good idea to use our time wisely. My dad has a saying “Work Smart – Not Hard”. It’s important to have the correct tools for the job to make that saying possible in our lives. I believe quality cookware is one of the best investments we can make.

This soup is nutritious – delicious – and goes together quickly because it starts with a pre made soup which provides a creaminess and spices that are already built in. I am always looking for recipes that work well during busy times. It can be made with as many vegetables as you want and of course, meat is always optional.

I would spend time playing with my son :). Love not having to wash pans by hand.
If I had a working dishwasher to wash it in, in that spare time I believe I’d be quilting, crocheting, or preparing my next meal with my kiddos!
Spend some time with my kids!!
watching movies :0
I would cook more!
read a good book
Well, since my hubby does the dishes (yeah, I know – I’m spoiled) I would love getting to spend the extra time with him OUTSIDE the kitchen!
Take a power nap! :o)
Spend time with my hubby and our dogs.
I would read a book on my screened in porch.

Thanks for the great recipe and giveaway.
I think I would spend time snuggled up with my hubby and our sweet puppy watching a hallmark Christmas movie. Thank you for the giveaway opportunity. xo
Thank you for sharing your wonderful recipes and for showing us this terrific cookware. What a great cooking pot this would be to have as it certainly seems very versatile and sturdy. Even the style is lovely. I am an avid cook, spend so much time in the kitchen and would love to have a pot such as this to enjoy and utilize to the max. Thanks for allowing me to enter in this give-away. It is appreciated.
With thanks, Gayle Page-Robak.

spend time with my husband thanks for the giveaway
I am currently in grad school for nutrition… which means almost no time is left for cooking/cleaning in between studying! The Calphalon pot might allow me time to cook some chili or soup to nosh on throughout the week, especially if it means the cleaning time would be reduced! 🙂
I would hold my baby a little longer 🙂
I would prep more fruits and vegetables for other recipes with the extra time.:)
I would spend the extra time making a yummy dessert! 🙂
This would give me more time to spend with my children and they are my life.
12/7 I liked and shared the post on my fb page Julie A Scott Laws
I think I might have to come up with more delicious recipes to try in this. My husband and I love to cook together and this would give us a new tool to use.
I would be decorating and reading!!!
Preparing the next recipe to cook or prepare for canning.
I’d cook more items and maybe set the table and/or do a little garnishing with the extra time.
I love that it’s dishwasher safe, but with no dishwasher, I would still be hand washing 🙁
read a book
