Restaurant Shout Out – AZ BBQ Co

Oh, my, I very rarely come home and put what was on my to do list aside to put together a quick blog post because if you blog you know there is no such thing as building a quick post without formatting pictures, finding links and liking businesses or people on facebook.  But with all that said, it is worth the effort to share this place with my friends, family and community that are within driving distance to Gilbert, AZ on Ray Rd and Val Vista Rd. (Note – this is not a sponsored post and I’m receiving no compensation to share my opinion.)

Lately, we have been going out in our backyard and smelling this wonderful aroma – almost like Jeff has meat on our home smoker.  Then we discovered that a new bbq place was around the corner from us tucked behind where I get my tires checked.

Today we decided to check it out and I think it’s the best bbq I’ve ever had – except for yours, Jeff.

I learned that they’ve been open for 17 weeks, that one of the owners, Tim, is helpful in a friendly way (I believe the other owner was in the back cooking up yumminess).  Other information on the restaurant can be found HERE

The atmosphere is very casual – walk in – grab a menu – order at the register – get your drink, silverware and sauces. Sit down.  They call your name and you go to the pick-up counter to grab your food.  Then you Enjoy.

Here are a few pictures we snapped while there to tantalize you.  Picture up top is what Jeff ordered – the Superstition Combo – pulled pork, ribs and brisket, tortillas, potato wedges and ranchero beans.  This is a lot of food and my husband is currently in a food coma.

I had the taco combo – one was beef brisket, the other was smoked chicken with an amazing avocado cream sauce.  The ranchero beans were tender and favorable without being spicy.

Let’s talk sauces – there are 6 and they are all kept warm and ready for you to fill up little containers.  I was surprised how much I liked the green chili sauce.

This sign has such interesting facts – my favorites:  that AZ allowed women to vote 8 years before national suffrage and that our state motto means God Enriches.

If you decide to give this place a try, let me know what you think and mention to them that Debbie from Deliciously Inspired did her part to get the word out to the community.

I know this is going to be a new family favorite of our.  Sorry Famous Dave’s BBQ.
