Iced Tea was always a staple beverage while I was growing up. My southern grandmother used to make it so sweet that you could see a quarter inch of sugar settle in the bottom of the glass milk bottle she would store it in. (Oh my!) My mom would have two plastic pitchers sitting on the kitchen counter with tea bags hanging off the edge while the tea did it’s magic in the water. Me – you will usually find one or two flavors of iced tea in my fridge at home and often one at work.
You may think you don’t like tea but I’d challenge you to keep looking. Try a green tea which comes in all different flavors and are full of antioxidants. I drink my tea unsweetened which is quite a bit different than my grandma did. I’d rather save the sugar in my diet for an occasional cookie 🙂

- To sweeten - add a few drops of liquid stevia or squeeze 1/2 of an orange into tea
- Add fresh mint leaves or cut up strawberries to add a layer of flavor
- Add lemon slices.
- Try making a healthy Arnold Palmer. Fresh Lemon Juice, a few drops of liquid stevia and tea.
