Topic:  Something difficult about your “lot in life” and how you’re working to overcome it

I’ve had some health challenges the past few years.  I list them only for the purpose of education just in case someone needs to connect – Interstitial Cystitis, Severe Sleep Apnea and Shingles twice within a few months of each other which has left me with a neuropathy where the nerves were affected.

Okay enough of that – This is how I manage it:

My faith in God – I trust Him with my days and nights

Search out a team of health providers to partner with me

Listen to the language of my body – move on most days and know when it is time to rest

Take time for the little moments of sweetness – a glass of  iced herbal tea, baby’s giggle, watch a sunset or sunrise, etc.

Consistent exercise program (cardio, strength training, swimming and yoga)

Good nutrition – on most days

Choose to deposit more positive than negative in my life

Choose not to let pain define me

Family time

Fun

Working on projects I am passionate about

Do you have some tips on managing the challenges in life?  We learn a lot from sharing with each other.

Favorite Product – Candy Cane Lane Tea

This is one of my favorite teas during the fall.  It has the flavor of those melt in your mouth butter mints without the calories.  Because this tea only comes out near the holidays,  I have been known to buy several boxes so I can enjoy it all year round.

Strawberry Infused Iced Tea

We get very excited about a summer rain here in Arizona because it gives a small window of relief from the summer heat.  We had a series of storms this past weekend and it cooled our pool down several degrees making my morning swim a bit more pleasant.  But the humidity afterwards can be unpleasant so when I came home from work I made this iced drink to cool down.

It is dark when I start my swim and the moon guides me.  Back and forth and soon the sky becomes lighter and lighter making everything clear that was once shadows.

Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.
